Someone I Know
Out there in the meadow of dreams
is someone I know is the other half of my soul.
There’s a moment when I close my eyes
and I surrender to my reveries.
Someone I know is gazing at the diamond stars
and following their faint trail to me.
Someone I know is up all night sketching
and caressing an imaginary version of my angelic face.
Someone I know is smiling from a distance
sensing our day getting closer and closer.
Someone I know is slowly falling in love
with a fantasy of me.
Though I close my eyes to keep my sadness locked in,
I know you have your eyes set only for me as well.
I know that someday we will wander into each other’s lives,
and wonder how serendipity could be so magical.

and we will vow to be soulmates for all eternity.
