Sometimes when you flick through magazines or adverts, you notice those two-colored pictures that are absolutely stunning. This tutorial will teach you how to choose any two colors of your choice to make your picture go glam!
1. Open an image.
2. Convert the image to Greyscale.
Image> Mode> Greyscale. It must be in greyscale mode for you to use the Duotone effect.
4. Add the Duotone effect.
Image> Mode> Duotone.
Change the TYPE to 'Duotone. You will get a pop-up window. Choose the first color as black. Choose the second as Yellow (PANTONE 121 CVC). Click on the 'Curves' on the left box as indicated on the image and change the curves to reflect the same ones as the image below.
5. Dutone effect implemented.
You will get the dutone effect you used. Remarkable difference!
Play around with the different colors and curves to get what you like. Hey, you can even have three (tritones) or four (Quadtone) colors too!
