The Power of Thought
Friday, April 21, 2006

They say that the universe started with the 'thoughts of God', a brilliance that reflected itself in the famous Big Bang that marked the beginning of the universe. Just like thoughts in the mind, the power of thought is an agent of freedom in a dark world. I envision the universe as one beautiful thought around which an intriguing spectrum of feelings, hopes, desires, energies, inspirations, fears, and expressions from everywhere and everyone rotate.

How then can people shun at others and call them ‘weird’, ‘freak’, ‘misfit’ when they object to conventional ideas? How can divergent thoughts and perspectives be seen as uninspiring and eye-opening? Galileo Galilei fought against the Vatican to prove that the Earth rotated around the Sun. Picasso left behind a profusion of confounding paintings that are vied by every museum of art. Sheikh Mohammed turned the Dubai desert into the hub of the world.

People should have the freedom to think, express, and believe in whatever they want to, provided they do not hurt others. People should not be made to feel ostracized for thinking outside the box that it suppresses their thoughts from emerging into the ideas arena and into bringing new thoughts to our world.

After all, one beautiful thought can change the world.

Dare to be different.
